Scott’s Toy Box: Most Literally
It’s August, and after the chaos of the summer dies down, it’s time to get organized for back to school. This month in the Toy Box, I thought that instead of adding more to the “want” list, I’d find some stuff to help parents get their children’s rooms organized and looking great.
1. Kids Kraft
This toy box from Kids Kraft is beautiful. It not only holds toys but is also a bench that can be used as seating. It’s about 2.5 feet long and less than 2 feet high. The top of the box will stay open when raised, and there are also two handles on either side of the box so you can lift it. If you want one, head over to Learning Express Toys, and they will help you out.
2. Closetmaids Cubicals
Another great product for storage is Closetmaids Cubicals. The cubicals come in several sizes, from 1 cube x 2 cubes to 3 cubes x 3 cubes. My favorite is the 2×4. Each cube is about 1 foot by 1 foot. They come in a few different colors of wood, from dark to light. There are also many different colored fabric drawers that fit perfectly in the cubes. The 2×4 cubical is about $50 at Target, and the fabric drawers are about $6.
3. Flor
Flor carpet squares are perfect for children. Each square is almost 20 inches x 20 inches. Available from Flor.com, the squares are put together using Flor adhesive squares. If there is a stain, or if one of the squares get damaged, you only have to replace that one square instead of the whole carpet. There are lots of different styles at varying prices. The website even has a Flor designer that you can use with your child to design your rug or entire floor. You can even buy samples to help you decide on what style and color you want.
