Summer Camp-What Would Walter Do?

Beginners welcome, this camp is for ages 8-12. Campers will draw inspiration from the world around them to draw, paint, and create! Learn basic drawing and painting techniques. (*This is a suggested prerequisite for July 29-August 2 printmaking camp.) Space is limited. For questions or information on scholarships, contact Tony DiFatta at educate@walterandersonmuseum.org. Cost: $120 members, $150 non-members

MCM presents our summer traveling exhibit “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood: A Grr-ific Exhibit,” where families are invited to spend time singing, playing and exploring the world of beloved PBS KIDS character Daniel Tiger. The exhibit focuses on core social and emotional skills that all children are learning, helping young children prepare for experiences and places they will soon encounter.

The Mississippi Children’s Museum is a Blue Star Museum and will offer free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families for up to 6 individuals from May 28 through Labor Day 2019 (MCM will be closed on Memorial Day, May 27). Current Military ID must be presented for this benefit.

Children’s Workshop on Insects!

Hancock County Extension Agent, Dr. Christian Stephenson will lead this fun and educational workshop.  Children will learn about insects and why they are important to our environment and humans.  Class includes a collecting expedition on the Arboretum grounds.
