Get Some “Me Time” in Hancock County

Sometimes, we parents – both moms AND dads – and in particular, stay-at-home parents – focus so much on our responsibilities at home, that our social lives suffer. It’s important, especially when parenting babies and toddlers, to find a babysitter and get out not to run errands or do other stressful work, but to simply have time around other adults, even if it’s just for an hour or two.

One easy way to get out, meet new people, and maybe participate in a hobby or learn something new is to take advantage of what’s offered at your local library. In Hancock County, the schedule is full of possibilities for the parent who can manage to get away for a little adult time. As anyone who has been through it can tell you, it almost doesn’t matter WHAT you actually do, so long as you get out into the world for a few minutes without a child holding onto your leg!

Here’s a list of some events happening throughout the Hancock Library system in April and May. We are not listing children’s activities here, so please check the library website if you want story hour and children’s activity times. This list is strictly for YOU, moms and dads!

These are just a few options; there are many more on the schedule. Be sure to check out the library website or phone the library before setting out for an event, to get more details, including exact, up-to-date times. The website gives full descriptions of each event so you can decide exactly how you want to spend your precious and rare “me time.”
