Local School Boards Will Determine Reopening Plans
While the Mississippi Department of Education outlines information for schools to take into account, it is up to local school boards to oversee final decisions made by schools. Superintendent Charlotte Seals from the Madison County School District believes this gives local schools more time to get their plans together, rather than waiting on approval from MDE.
Schools will be expected to make plans after reviewing the MS State Department of Health recommendations as well as state laws. MSDH approval is not required, either.
Depending on the school district and grade level, many students will have the option of fully online classes. Read the full story here.
