Kids Music Day in October
This October, the Keep Music Alive non-profit will be celebrating the milestone 5th Annual Kids Music Day by partnering with nearly 1,000 music schools, music stores and other music organizations to hold special events and promotions that benefit children playing music. Kids Music Day events typically include instrument petting zoos, student performances, ukulele/drum circles, instrument donation drives and more. This year, there will be a number of virtual musical experiences for parents and their children as an alternative in areas where necessary.
Kids Music Day is supported each year by over a dozen celebrities lending their name & image as Kids Music Day Ambassadors including Julie Andrews, Jack Black, Ann & Nancy Wilson, Sarah McLachlan, Vanessa Williams, Kenny Loggins, Pat Benatar/Neil Giraldo, Bernie Williams, Michael Feinstein, Richie Sambora and more (see graphic and press release below).
Matthew Morrison, best known for Broadway and the FOX television show Glee has signed on as the official spokesperson for Kids Music Day this year. Matthew and his team are preparing a special Kids Music Day presentation that will premiere on Monday September 28th and include other Kids Music Day Ambassadors as well.
Philadelphia/PA – The 5th Annual “Kids Music Day” will be celebrated on Friday – October 2nd, 2020. Each year, Keep Music Alive partners with music schools, music stores and other music organizations around the world to hold special events that benefit and celebrate kids playing music. The goal is to highlight the importance of including music in children’s education. Events held by participating locations include open houses, instrument petting zoos, free music lessons, student music performances, community/family jams, instrument donation drives, kids open mics and more. Due to the ongoing Covid pandemic, it is anticipated that many Kids Music Day events will be virtual in 2020.
