Southaven is giving its residents and visitors a reason to get excited. Springfest is coming to town! An upcoming five-day festival on April 24-28 is a special celebration of the 38th anniversary of the city. Susan Powell likely wouldn’t have been successful as a teacher in the DeSoto County School District if she was afraid of challenging her students. At the start of the 2009-10 school year, Powell and her teaching colleague Melissa (Swartz) Wheeler issued a challenge to kids at Horn Lake Middle to collect 1.5 million pennies – one to represent the memory of every child that died in the Holocaust. Nesbit’s Merry Christmas Tree Farm Set to Commemorate a Special 2017

DeSoto County Hoops to Feature Plenty of Hustle

DeSoto County parents and kids may always remember their first hockey game, concert, circus or rodeo at the Landers Center in Southaven, but suddenly there’s a new form of entertainment coming to town.
