In a time of social distancing, when every trip to the grocery store causes discomfort for some and a full on panic attack for others, there’s another way to stock up on those groceries. Many of us have utilized Click Lists and home deliveries. Those are great for your essentials and pantry items. But what about fresh produce? Not so fresh, huh? A lot of the time customers get wrong items as substitutes for items that weren’t in stock. Sometimes the produce looks kind of sad, not very appetizing, to say the least.

Farm Boxes are a great solution! For example, the ones Two Dog Farms in Flora, MS puts together for their customers.

So how does it work?

You can become a shareholder in the CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). A shareholder (or the consumer) shares in the risks of the farmer and has the opportunity to directly take part in the production of his own food. Shareholders proactively purchase the produce before it is even growing, helping the farmer pay for many of the costs involved. The farmer therefore invests the cost back into the farm. In return, shareholders gain access to the freshest, most nutritious produce available. This direct producer to consumer relationship is exceedingly rare in today’s industrialized food system. Two Dog Farms are offering farm boxes the week of 7/20/20. There will be two pickup locations-

Tuesday 3pm-6pm at Two Dog Farms located at 256 First Street Flora, MS

Thursday 3pm-6pm at M7 Coffee Shop located at 111 North Wheatley Street Ridgeland, MS

Both locations will be a drive through pick-up, no need to get out of your car. Pull up to our tent, give them your name and they will put your order in your car.
