Pine Belt Clinic’s COVID-19 Response Garners Mention in New England Journal of Medicine

According to a press release distributed by Hattiesburg Clinic — a medical practice located in Hattiesburg, Mississippi — the clinic has garnered mention in the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine’s article, “Responding to COVID-19: Lessons from Management and Research.”
The release cited the clinic’s actions in response to a shortage of test kits, wherein it partnered with Forrest General Hospital and the University of Southern Mississippi to “solve its test tube shortage and ultimately expand testing throughout the state of Mississippi.”
John Fitzpatrick MD, Hattiesburg Clinic nephrologist and president of the board of directors, made written comment about being featured.
“It is a complete honor to see the work of so many talented leaders in our community recognized by this highly respected journal of our peers,” Dr. Fitzpatrick said. “It has been such an amazing journey with tremendous life-saving outcomes. And this is just the beginning.”
