Walking and Fishing Options at Barnett Reservoir

The lake is open for fishing and boating. Our day parks, dog parks, and sandbars remain closed to promote social distancing. We have also restricted use of the fishing piers for the same reason.
All of our walking trails are open (less the areas located within the day parks), which total almost 25 miles. Here is a link to the website map:

The Spillway Recreational Areas below the dam are open. These spots are very popular for bank fishing. Bank fishing is allowed at the reservoir at any area that is not privately leased.
Pelahatchie Bay is open for boating and fishing again. There are some restricted areas on the north shore of the bay, which are marked with buoys. Information on the restricted areas are located at the local boat ramps and on our website.
