Tyler Perry Pays Grocery Bill for Senior Shoppers at More Than 70 Supermarkets
Tyler Perry is making sure senior citizens are taken care of by paying the grocery bills for all senior shoppers this morning at more than 70 supermarkets in Atlanta and New Orleans.
The media mogul, who lives in Atlanta, Ga., and is from New Orleans, La., paid the grocery bills for all customers during Kroger’s senior shopping hour at 44 of the supermarket’s locations in Atlanta and 29 Winn-Dixie locations in New Orleans, according to Page Six.
“Senior and higher-risk Kroger shoppers in metro Atlanta did receive a nice surprise at the register this morning when they learned Tyler Perry had paid their grocery tab in full,” said Felix Turner, the Atlanta spokesman for Kroger, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “We would like to join our customers in thanking Mr. Perry for his kindness and generosity during this unprecedented pandemic.”
The awestruck Shoppers said they were told by cashiers that their groceries were covered once they entered the check-out aisle. Perry was not revealed as the donor at the time, but instead the shoppers were given receipts with “Atlanta Angel” printed on them.
It’s unknown exactly how much Perry spent to cover the groceries.
