Handmade gift for Mom (plan of action for Dad)
Young children aren’t able to buy presents for their parents, but they love surprising us with gifts. For Mother’s Day, you could give your kids a few ideas on something thoughtful they could do for their Moms (like make the breakfast, clean the bathroom without a reminder or unload the dishwasher) or you can help them create something special at home – a spring wreath or a dough sculpture (there is a plethora of ideas on Pinterest). But there’s something else you can do, that doesn’t require research or special supplies. Take your kids to Home Depot Kids Workshop on Saturday, May 5th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The children will have a great time building a model windmill, and you’ll leave with a thoughtful handmade gift for Mom: the windmill also happens to be a flower pot. It would certainly be more impressive if you actually have a seasonal flower or Mom’s favorite herb in the planter when you give it to her.
Check with your local Home Depot store for times, and register online prior to the workshop. The event is free and open to the public.
