Scott’s Toy Box: A Gift To Give All Year Long
I enjoy getting mail. In fact, when I was growing up, I would complain when someone else got the mail out of the box. I knew there was nothing in the mail for me but just receiving the mail gave me the same sense of pleasure that actually getting a letter would give. Now that I live in my own house the mail isn’t as fun to get since it’s either bills or just junk. In order to make getting mail more exciting, I subscribed to a subscription box service. A subscription box service is a service you pay for monthly and each month you receive a box of goodies. There are box services for healthy snacks, pets, clothing, toiletries, and more. This month I looked for box services for kids, in case you want to give them a Christmas present that will be given to them all year long.
First there is Citrus Lane, which is a subscription box for newborns to 5 year olds. Each month, subscribers will get 4 to 5 top-rated products recommended by real moms and dads. Boxes are tailored to the age of your child and may include toys, books, snacks, household products as well as other goodies for kids and even parents. Citrus Lane is a great subscription box to give a new mother. In their online shop there are also several boxes that can be sent as gifts outside of a subscription. A subscription to Citrus Lane cost $29 a month and there are three different payment plans to choose from.
Next there is Little Passports, a subscription box for ages 5-12. Following the adventures of globetrotting Sam and Sofia, each month your child will receive a package jam-packed with an adventure letter, souvenirs, and online activities and games. The content is designed to inspire a love and understanding of the world in young children, with lessons about geography, history, culture and language. There are two editions to choose from. The world edition follows Sam and Sofia as they travel to a new country each month. The USA edition follows the two as they visit two new states each month. The boxes cost about $12 a month and there are also three different payment plans to choose from.
Nerd Block Jr
Lastly, there is Nerd Block Jr, a mystery subscription box for geeks and nerds. Their boxes contain toys and collectables from popular television shows and movies that are age appropriate. Nerd Block Jr. is for ages 6 to 11 and they have one for boys and girls. Since the company is run by parents they are well versed in what junior nerd (or juniors at heart) will want to receive. The Nerd Block Jr. boxes cost $14 a month. They also have 3 other types of boxes: Nerd Block Classic which is just like the Jr. boxes but for the geeks and nerds who pay taxes, Arcade Block for gamers, and Horror Block for people who enjoy horror movies. These boxes cost $20 a month but also include a custom t-shirt each month.
