Scott’s Toy Box: Baby New Year
Ready or not, it’s time to welcome Baby New Year, and with each new year there are new babies on the way. This month to celebrate Baby New Year’s arrival, I found some great baby toys for him to play with. Feel free to buy what I found for the new babies in your life.
First we have Uncle Goose’s Stack and Scare Wooden Blocks. These blocks are colorfully designed with beautiful patterns. Some blocks have eyes and some have mouths. There are four different sets that you can mix and match to create all kinds of monsters. The sets cost $48 on Unclegoose.com, which is filled with all types of beautiful blocks I suggest you browse through.
Next we have Peek ABoo Bear by Gund. Peek A Boo Bear is a teddy bear that comes with a blanket. When you squeeze the button in his foot Peek A Boo Bear comes alive and plays peek a boo with your baby. The bear is soft and beige and his blanket is cream colored which he raises and lowers as he says, “peek a boo, I see you.” The bear costs about $40 and you can find him at Learning Express.
Finally we have Green Toy’s Rocket. This red and blue rocket has two working doors and includes two astronauts. The top part of the rocket detaches becoming a separate smaller rocket. The details on the inside are amazing. Etched into the plastic are panels, stairs and even a hatch between the top and bottom part of the rocket. The rocket is suggested for ages 2 and up and is made from 100% recycled plastic. It can be found on Amazon.com for around $23.
M. Scott Anderson lives in Jackson and is thinking about buying his name in wooden blocks.
