Scott’s Toy Box: Build Yourself a Merry Lego Christmas

Recently I found a YouTube video with a fun game two people could play with their Legos. One person has all of the Legos and the other has the instructions. Together, the team has to build the set with the first person not being able to look at the instructions and the other not allowed to point. I suggest only playing with sets no larger than the $20 sets as those sets have enough pieces to make it a challenge but not too many to for the game to become boring. With this fun little game in mind, I decided to dedicate another column to some awesome Lego toys and books.

Lego Dimensions’ 2nd year sets

First we have Lego Dimensions’ 2nd year sets. Lego Dimensions was one of the best games of last Christmas and now there is even more fun available. This 2nd year set includes Story Packs like the Ghostbusters, which I got to play. The Story Packs come with a new portal setting for your game pad as well as a new character and a vehicle/object. In the game, the Story Pack provides several levels and the Ghostbusters game played through the whole movie. There are also new packs from franchises like Adventure Time, Harry Potter, and The A-Team. Also, there is a new battle mode where you and three of your friends can play games like capture the flag. If you’re lucky enough to own a PS4 and don’t own the base game you can get it now and it includes a Supergirl minifigure to add into your game. Price ranges from $50 to $12, depending on which pack you buy.

The Lego Christmas Ornaments Book

Next we have The Lego Christmas Ornaments Book. This book is great to add Legos to your holiday cheer. The book has 15 different designs and instructions on how to make them. They range from festive ornaments like a wreath and a poinsettia to every day objects like a computer and a camera. The book also shows the ornaments in different colors to give you ideas on how to diversify them. Each set of instructions also includes a list of parts along with the Lego part numbers that allow you to head over to the Lego online store and find the parts in their pick a brick section if you don’t already have one in your Lego collection. You can find the book on Amazon for $17.

365 Things To Do With Lego Bricks

Lastly we have 365 Things To Do With Lego Bricks. This book is filled with an activity to do for each day of the year. The activities are sorted in many ways from activities to play solo or with others to activities based on themes like sports and animals. They also include other factors like how long you have to play, how many brinks you have and what you’re in the mood to do. The book can be found on Amazon for $25.
