Scott’s Toy Box: Pets and Toys
Ever since I moved to Jackson (and especially for a brief time when I lived alone), friends would say to me, “Scott, you should get a dog.” I’m not sure why my friends think this way. I don’t think they realize how low the probability is of a dog surviving my care within the first year of ownership. Plus, I have neither a yard nor the money to care for a dog. So this month in the Toy Box, I decided to focus on some pets that I probably could manage the care of: the stuffed variety.
Zoobies
First, we have Zoobies. At first, Zoobies look like just a stuffed animal, but they are so much more. Not only can you snuggle with your Zoobie as an animal, but it also opens to become a pillow. Then you can unzip it to pull out the blanket that is folded up inside of it. The blanket is made of fleece, and, in the larger Zoobie Blanket Pets, measures to over 3 feet long. There are also Zoobie Blankie Babies that are smaller and include a teething ring. You can find them all on Zoobies.com, where the large Blanket Pets cost $34.

ZombieZoo
Next are the animals from ZombieZoo. Stitched together with a “turned-inside-out” look, these animals from the grave are made of cozy fleece and are very soft. Each zombie has its own personality; for instance, Stitch the pig loves cleaning. These cute stuffed zombie animals are a good idea to keep other closet monsters at bay. You can find them at Zombie-zoo.com for $21.

Freaky Pets
If both of those sound good, but you can’t decide between the two, you may want to look into Freaky Pets. Freaky Pets have both a nice side and a nasty side. Each pet has a Velcro opening on its back. You can open it and push the nice side in, allowing the nasty side to come out, and vice versa. The pets also come with a code you can use on an internet component, where you can play games and have more fun with your Freaky Pet. You can find these at Hallmark for about $15.
