Mitchell Farms Pumpkin Patch

Mitchell Farms Pumpkin Patch

There’s such joy that comes with everything fall: cooler weather, pulling out your favorite sweater and boots, getting the fireplace ready for that first fire of the season, getting under a blanket with a book and a cup of hot spiced apple cider… And there’s one more thing. Pumpkins! Even if you don’t like pumpkin muffins or pumpkin latte, you probably still love seeing them everywhere this time of year. Their vibrant colors just have a way of bringing smiles to our faces. You might be completely satisfied with the selection of pumpkins in your Kroger. But if you want to take advantage of the fall season (it’s so short in Mississippi!), give your kids a real pumpkin experience and take some amazing photos, head on to Mitchell farms in Collins, MS! It’s about an hour and a half from Jackson, MS. The drive is so worth it. This is a place like no other.

Their Pumpkin Patch, Corn Maze, Slides, Train and Hayrides have been a favorite entertainment for the locals all through October. There is still some time to enjoy the farm and pick your pumpkin. The Pumpkin Patch is open to the public till November 11.

Fun Fact

Mitchell farms was started in 1960 by Dennis and Nelda. They have been growing row-crops since the beginning, got into peanuts in the 70s, began vegetables in the 80s and branched into Agritourism in 2006. Today they boast 1,500 acres, located deep in the piney woods of southeast Mississippi. Stop by and say hi!
